“Thresholds: Edges and Openings”

Theme:Thresholds: Edges & Openings

A threshold marks a transition between spaces, experiences, or states of being. It may be a doorway, gate, window, alleyway, architectural detail, pathway, or an unexpected boundary.

Photographers are invited to explore Thresholds through a creative lens, interpreting the theme both literally and metaphorically. Consider the interplay of light and shadow, reflections, textures, framing, and perspective—or the mystery, anticipation, and possibilities that lie beyond.

From architecture to nature, from familiar passageways to abstract interpretations, we welcome photographic works that capture the beauty and intrigue of edges, openings, and the spaces in between.

Look beyond the obvious and discover the unexpected. What does a threshold reveal, conceal, or invite us to imagine?

  • JPEG Submissions due by Jan 10, 12 midnight. Enter the exhibit name “Thresholds” in the subject line when emailing your images.

  • NPG provides an opportunity for local photographers of all skill levels to learn, share and present their art.

  • Member-only exhibitions at local galleries and community spaces.
